How God created the world in 6 days

How God created the world in 7 days

There has been recent media buzz about the Pope’s latest statement and his approval regarding the theory of evolution and the “Big Bang Theory”.

When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so. . .  He created human beings and let them develop according to the internal laws that he gave to each one so they would reach their fulfillment. . .  The Big Bang, which today we hold to be the origin of the world, does not contradict the intervention of the divine creator but, rather, requires it. . .  God is not a divine being or a magician, but the Creator who brought everything to life. . .  Evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation, because evolution requires the creation of beings that evolve.”  – Pope Francis

After seeing some of the media coverage, I decided to dig deeper on these subjects. I have been of the opinion that the world was created in 6 days by God.  My opinion as with many others, was limited to human thinking rather than looking beyond to the true power of God.  As many believers I accepted the idea that maybe 6 days equals 6000 years and maybe each day is actually a million years in some theory that I have yet to read about 😉  I took this idea from the prophetic theory that 1 day equals 1000 years.

But don’t forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2 Peter 3:8

Anyway, having a theory based only on my intuition is not something I should base my faith on.  So while researching many articles and ideas I stumbled upon these two articles. One from “Future Hope Online” written by John W. Schmitt and the second from Creation Ministries International by Lita Cosner and Gary Bates.
I think these articles were written brilliantly and the idea of God’s creation of the world in 6 (24h) days is based on the author’s strong faith in our Lord God that most of us should have as well as scientific point of view.  Interestingly enough, the language of Hebrew is brought into the picture which I always appreciate, and lots of different ideas regarding the Genesis itself.
Without further do, please enjoy:
Special thanks to John W. Schmitt from Future Hope Online and Lita Cosner and Gary Bates from Creation Ministries International.
